Whole30 Fish Tacos

whole30 fish tacos

Woohoo! I made it through the Blues game without cheating even with all the beers being passed around me. Can we talk about an impressive victory for me and my Whole30 journey?! I am one step closer to completing Whole30.

Today, we entered Day 12 to 15 which is dreaming of junk food. Like clockwork, I woke up after a magical rest and dreams of chocolate chip cookies. They were amazing, fluffy and overflowing with chocolate. The alarm went off, and I felt guilty. Obviously, there was no reason to feel guilty, so I started my day with a scrumptious bowl of fruit.

As every Friday during Lent, Catholics do not eat meat, so I made delicious Whole30 fish tacos. I paired the Whole30 fish tacos with Whole30 lime slaw mix and Whole30 avocado cilantro sauce. The meal was refreshing, and I loved using a lettuce leaf for the wrap!

Whole30 Fish Tacos Ingredients

  • Lettuce leafs
  • 3/4 lb of tilapia (or your favorite fresh white fish)
  • Fish Spices
    • 1 + 1/2 tsp paprika
    • 1 tsp onion powder
    • 1 tsp garlic powder
    • 1/2 tsp cumin
    • 1/2 tsp oregano
    • 1/2 tsp thyme
    • 1/4 tsp cayenne

Whole30 Fish Tacos Recipe

  1. Preheat outdoor grill or indoor electric grill to medium heat.
  2. Next, mix all the dry fish spices together in a small bowl.
  3. Sprinkle spices evenly on both sides of the fish filets.
  4. Drizzle a little olive oil on each side of the fish just before grilling
  5. Grill fish about 3-4 minutes each side just until done – avoid overcooking
Place a little of the Whole30 Avocado Cilantro Sauce in the lettuce wrap, add fish pieces, top with Whole30 slaw, and add more sauce as desired. Enjoy!
Thanks to paleo newbie for the inspiration.
